A square steel frame rotated 45 degrees — diamond-oriented and anchored on a single corner so it floats above the hardscape. Rounded volcanic rock fills the burner bed, absorbing and radiating heat. The dark stone disappears against the fire, so only the flame reads. Boulders and fern beds cradle the pit on every side.
Two boulders drilled and plumbed to run water from the top — natural fountain features that bring ambient sound without visible mechanical hardware. They anchor the planting beds and give the patio edges a sense of scale. Fire on one side, water on the other.
River Fern, Creeping Jenny, Horsetail Reed, Umbrella Plant, Big Muhly, Silver Pony Foot, Bi-Color Iris, Leopold Plant, Anacacho Orchid Tree, and Flowering Maple. Every planting bed is layered by height and texture — the space reads lush without competing with the fire and water at center.
